Ten of the 18 benchmarks Epoch tracks are mathematics, so this grid measures what has been built to test as much as what models can do. There is no benchmark here for long-horizon work, physical tasks or judgement under uncertainty. If the current rate held

Each open benchmark's frontier score over the last 24 months, extended in a straight line to 90.0%. An extrapolation of a fitted line, not a forecast.

Open benchmarks with the current best score, the fitted monthly rate of improvement, and the month a straight-line extension of that rate would reach 90 percent.

Two things make these dates optimistic in opposite directions, and neither is corrected for. The series fitted is a running maximum, so it can never fall and a fitted rate can never be negative: a benchmark that has stopped improving reads as zero, never as decline. And a straight line is the wrong shape, because benchmark progress is usually flat, then steep, then flat again against the ceiling, so early numbers here run late and late ones run early. A straight line is used anyway because it is the one shape that cannot be tuned to flatter the result. Rows marked flat or falling have a fitted rate of zero, meaning no evaluated model has beaten the existing best in the window. Fitted by this site from Epoch's evaluation runs. Epoch publishes no such projection. The frontier on every benchmark

Running best score by month. The dashed line is 90.0%, the Benchmark saturation The point at which the best recorded score on a test stops separating leading models. This site uses 90 per cent of the maximum score as the threshold and reports the month it was first passed. Glossary entry point, past which a test stops separating the leading models.

Notability is Epoch's editorial judgement, not a census, and entries are added some days after a model appears, so the very newest releases are missing rather than absent. A training-compute figure usually arrives later still and for closed models often never does, which is why this table does not carry one. Notable AI Models Epoch AI Licence CC-BY-4.0 Updated weekly Retrieved , today Inclusion is editorial ("notability criteria"), not exhaustive. Compute figures are frequently estimates; check the per-row confidence and notes columns before treating any value as measured. Cite Epoch AI, "Notable AI Models". https://epoch.ai/data/ai-models. Counts models Epoch judged notable, which is a curation decision rather than a census. A rise partly reflects more models and partly reflects more attention being paid to them. The final bar covers a quarter that has not finished.
